Old fashioned enough not to use a dropper post. How about more cush for your toosh instead!
Inline seat post for Urban, Touring, Gravel and XC/Trail Mountain Biking. Fits 7mm round seat rails only. Custom made in the UK from 3AL - 2.5V titanium for the post and 7075 aluminium for the seat rail clamp.
The seat post OD is 25.0mm and a shim is used to fit the frame's seat tube ID. Shims are available ranging from 25.6mm to 32.0mm OD to suit most frames. Weight varies but for guidance a 400mm seat post and shim weighs about 220 grams. Our seat post passes and exceeds BS EN ISO 4210 for Mountain Bikes.
Using a smaller 25mm OD tube for the seat post means the post will flex more than other larger diameter seat posts but will still be rigid enough to pedal on. The flex helps reduce the amount of small road vibrations and 'chatter' transmitted through the saddle and is even noticeable when used on a full suspension mountain bike.
In comparison to other seat posts of the same length, our seat post is approximately 19.5% more flexible than a 27.2mm OD x 0.9mm walling thickness (WT) titanium seat post, 37% more flexible than aluminium 27.2mm OD x 2.0mm WT seat post and 47% more flexible an aluminium 30.9mm OD x 1.5mm WT seat post.
As Titanium has good fatigue properties it is one of the better materials to use for components designed to flex.
Fed up with your saddle tilting every time your bum inadvertently bounces on the saddle? Most seat post clamps use M5 bolts with a recommended torque of 12 Nm. In comparison our seat rail clamp uses two M6 Grade 10.9 bolts which can both be torqued to 14.5 Nm giving a total clamping torque of 29 Nm. Our clamp design does not require any grease, grip paste or thread lock on any of the parts or bolts to work, it just works! So your saddle will not tilt and you can enjoy a faff free ride.
Please note, as the saddle rails pass though the centre of the clamp rather than the top, you will need to ensure that the shape of your saddle allows access to the top bolt with an Allen key.
