I started riding mountain bikes in about 1987, working part time in bike shops whilst at School and later University.
At the age of 16 I finished designing and building my first Titanium Mountain Bike frame. It was made from donated IMI CP Titanium and a friend did the welding for me. It was just as good as anything by the established titanium brands and I raced it in local 'Sports' class mountain bike XC races.
After university where I studied engineering I got a job working for one of the UK's largest cycle accessory distributors. Eventually moving on and for the next 20 years worked as first a CAD Technician and then Consulting Engineer.
The titanium bug never stopped though and I continued to make various non bicycle related parts from the magic metal, mostly for Caterham 7's. See 'OTHER TITANIUM' in the Products tab.

Fast forward 31 years. Things have changed a bit. Sorted suspension, different wheel sizes, different geometries and bikes that work regardless of how much mud you can sling at them. After looking at the various titanium offerings from other bike manufacturers I just couldn't find anything I liked, so I thought it was about time I made another bike frame.
Which is what Perry Titanium is about. What you will find on this website are dependable products that I have made for myself and enjoy riding with. Im just an average mountain biker with only one bike which I use for everything, riding on road to the trails, off road XC trails and home again. I appreciate that its not everyones idea of the perfect mountain bike, but the bikes we all ride are as much an expression of ourselves and where we ride. I believe you should ride what you like.
You won't find much Aluminium or any Carbon here, just Titanium, all designed and custom made in the UK. All titanium is either sourced from well known and respected titanium bicycle tube suppliers such as Reynolds and Dedacciai, or is sourced from other titanium mills and stockists and has full test certification. I would dearly love to buy all UK or USA made titanium but there is only one manufacturer of Grade 9 titanium tubing in the UK who have a £10k minimum order quantity per size!
All fabrication is carried out by the same Lloyds Registered coded welders and fabricators who welded my first bike frame back in 1987. In fact they were the first company in the world to fabricate and weld titanium offshore in 1980s no less and have over 45 years experience with Titanium. In the past they have welded for the nuclear, defence, chemical and motorsport industries. I think this says enough about how our products are made.
Thank you for visiting our website and reading this. It is as much a blog showing things I have made from titanium as it is a website selling mountain bike components. We recently exhibited at the Bespoked 2022 handbuilt bike show and the positive comments from the public were so gratefully received and made it all worth while.
We can repair cracked titanium frames, but generally frames crack for a reason, and welding up the crack is only a temporary fix which will last a few years.
